How did this become non-news so quickly? It had less than 24-hour coverage by bbc and wasn't even picked up by some newspapers at all.

When planes flew into the twin towers in the US Americans your average US citizen asked "WHY?". Is the UK going down the same routes and just shutting off stories (how?) to the UK population when it colludes with governments who then go on to commit acts of attrocity?

Hands up if you don't even know what I'm talking about?

Shocking.

Because sadly, more people are interested in Jordan, Davina, Sven, Beckham (insert name).

And even the intelligent people on this site will accuse you of 'Bush & Blair bashing' or being a 'liberal do gooder' for venturing an opinion.

Sad fact is, that while we take the mick out of the Americans and their president for their lack of international knowledge, we are probably as bad.

Papers will only sell if they pander to people's beliefs - like the Express did last week with the Baa Baa Black Sheep report. Irrelevant if it is true or not.

How many people know how many Iranians demonstrated and attacked the Danish embassy? From the media reports and hype, most people would guess it to be thousands. In fact it was 400.

Still, why let the truth spoil a good story?

Sadly, because journilism try to manipulate our thoughts and feelings by submitting what THEY feel is important and not important. Therefore you will get very one-side views seeming to be broad minded, but it aint. They have to report it, but thats that - without any feelings unless they felt if should be shown with feelings. It is finally controlled by the Editors of the world of news.

You hear what you want to hear.

Because that incident showed to the world what lying two timing little rats our diplomats and foreign office is when it comes to siding with the Israelis. To desert the prison which we had committed to protecting only to allow the Israelis to mortar bomb the place and pick out the prisoners they want was cowardice. All they showed in the news was the burning of the british council bldg, not the reason for it.

The situation in the Middle East reminds me of the farm animal chanting in the George Orwell novel, but the British press have substituted, 'Israel good! Palestine bad!' for, 'Four legs good! Two legs bad!'

Such bias is never going to bring peace to a region where oppression is either ignored, encouraged, or colluded with.

It just makes me ill to think about it. I'm not even going to start. How are they getting away with it? The whole take over of the middle east? Installing democracy, but only if the people elect the right person etc. It really makes me sick. So blatantly one sided.

White wash....buy it.

I am one of those people who unfortunately, did not hear much about it and assumed it was just another day of what usually goes on in Israel. I'm still not sure I have all the facts right...

Of what little I heard, apparently it was a ploy to boost the Israeli election campaign, but the British authorities so far, have not released a statement about why they abruptly deserted the prison. And now it's no longer in the news, conveniently forgotten.

... typical media brainwashing
I dont know anything about this. I dont buy national papers but I listen to the news on tv and radio.

Is it just possible that a couple of world leaders may get an extremely red face?
