My car falls into the reduced 40 a year road tax band. But I've just renewed my current disc, as it expires at the end of this month, at the old rate (75). Can I get a refund/rebate?

NO,as you jumped the gun, they wont give you back the difference.when you paid that was the rate,if it had gone up you would have been better off, thats the way the cookie crumbles my friend.

Where abouts are the new rates eye_nose? Is there a website? And do they start on April 1st?

New rates are here:

http://www.dvla.gov.uk/vehicles/Changes_to_cost_of_vehicle_tax.htm

According to the DVLA you can get a refund, Like with any disc. But I don't know how you're supposed to tax your car until your refund comes through.

the new rates came into effect today 23/3/2006
