Do you give your beauty products a shelf life for using, things like moisturiser, hair repair stuff and makeup or know after how long you should bin them if not used?

Jings, I have some make-up that is probably about 10 years old...

moisturisers often have a shelf life on the bottom of the pots. It can be up to two years if unopened

Ooh I've have a look. Need a clear out and am a beggar for not wanting to waste stuff but some of it I never use and it's been a while since I've needed much stuff as I don't go out much and can't see that changing for the foreseeable and could do with a good clear out.
I wouldn`t worry about hair products. As far as face/body products are concerned, I use them until they smell 'off'.
Those symbols represent a best before after opening.

2 years....hmmmm....I forsee a lot more space coming up....

I don't know where the time goes! I can remember it being 2 years this month I had my gallbladder out and I don't know where the time has gone, I know some stuff has been around since before then - sitting not being used I should add :)
I'm not bothered about shelf life, except for mascara which harbours lurgy after only a few weeks once you've opened it.
If expensive products - better to buy less, enjoy it for 6mts or so then chuck/replace. (I used to have a few of everything on the go and it is like money down the drain when you have to discard) (I never buy anything which includes "sponge" especially for lips /face as they are very unhygienic and are impossible to clean - brushes you can clean)

Eve - I'm sure you do - don't forget to wash your make up brushes and any other make-up applicators regularly too as they harbour skin oils, germs from hands aswell as old makeup etc.. and an oily make-up brush does not give as good a result anyway.
As the product expiry date will me mentioned in the product so there is no need to worry on it.
