it usually loses its 'fluffiness' because all the fluff has been torn off over time so - no,sorry !
Unless you mean the more plasticy piece, you could pull the fluff out of that.
do you mean the adhesive side that bonds to the surface and not the other side of the velcro?

Well,I've pulled the fluff out of the Plastic side, but it's really the fluffy side that has become kind of,well, flat. There's nothing for the other side to grip. Thanks for your ideas so far though.
You can buy replacement velcro relatively cheaply I think. Might be worth investing in that.

Thanks - it's for an ab-belt thing,I need it quite tight,so at the moment I'm tying a scarf around it because the velcro won't keep it closed,if you know what I mean. I don't think the velcro on it could be replaced. Maybe I just need to do sit-ups instead! Thanks for your suggestions though.
Not pertinent this time but in case this turns up on a future search....... if the hooky part is clogged with fluff like for kids shoes and trainers , take the other shoe and ' comb ' the clogged bit through using the hooks fom the opposite foot. Works a treat !! You are able to pick the fluff out as it rises off the impacted hooks.
woolworths sell velcro.both halves stick on, both sew on, and one side stick on other sew on. make sure you get the right one.
They sell replacement velcro strips for ab belts in a place called Eskimonia !

You could try buying a double sided tape, but really once it has lost its stickiness it needs to be either sewn on or binned

www.fastenerz.co.uk are uk suppliers and manufacturers of velcro hook and loop fasteners and also supply double sided tape, try the graphic and sign tape if you go down this route
