Historical Law Question Referring To Law In England 1900 To 1920

This might seem an odd question, but it is to do with a family history puzzle. Does anyone know how long it was when a person disappeared without trace they would be declared dead, so that the spouse was free to marry again? Only interested in law on this matter in the years 1900 to 1920 in England. Thank you

As far as I am aware,7 years. I do not believe this has ever been changed.
