Wedding Favours - Charity Donations - And Badges

I went to a wedding recently and on the tables there were cards with a message from the couple that said instead of favours they have donated to charity on our behalf and one of the little charity badges stuck through it.

i thought this was a lovely idea - i have always thought wedding favours to be a pointless expense - (even though I always have whatever it is, haha)

but this way the money is spent on something worthy and people still get a little badge - instead of a few sweets or a tiny bottle of bubbles or something.

is this a common thing? i have never seen it before. I assume the charity themselves have provided the badges and cards and they couple get them printed on perhaps?

anyone else done this?

I use gin on all my jewellery when I clean it (except pearls) it does make them sparkle. It's just the tiniest amount (can't waste good gin!)

When my daughter got married 2 years ago we put Disposable cameras on the tables and party poppers ..she received lots of candid wedding guest photos . It made a lovely album of guests, scenes ,hats, kids etc. things they and I were too busy to notice.
