how do you remove soot from a cream leather suite, I have already vacuumed the bulk of the soot up and have been told not to dampen the suite as this will make matters worse

buy some saddle soap its what they use to wash leather with..i get mine from barratts of *********..its a camping out door shop that sells horse riding stuff..look in your local directory for equestrian supplys and you will get it their...a damp cloth wont hurt if you dry it with a dry cloth straight away..
