none of us can know that.

call me cynical, intuitive or plain flukey but before I read the article I thought 'Tunisia or Turkey'.
The young couple are planning to live in the UK for a few years before moving to Turkey with her mum, dad and sister.

I know a couple of holiday reps who married waiters. They both had children. One marriage is now 5 years old and they have a beautiful child. However, they both work in Turkey in the Summer, and visit England in the winter. Unfortunately the other marriage just broke up, again after after several years. The rep gave up repping and wanted to return to England, the Turk didn't want to come here permanantly.
She'll feel very isolated during the 7 weeks she stays with his non-English speaking family, out of season when they aren't any or many holiday makers.

I still maintain that if they speak so little of each others language, what exactly are they going to talk about ? I know many married couples who don't talk to each very much but they have normally been married for years !
It's far too easy for onlookers to point and hoot about the potential for this relationsnhip, and the parents that have engineered it, but really we should feel sorry for this young woman.

As advised, she clearly has problems, and a starry-eyed vision of marriage is not going to help her.

It's a shame that the grandparents have shut themselves out of this situation - from my experience, it's at times like this that parents and grandparents are needed more than ever.
Listening to lbc radio last night, some one was saying that he proposed to a girl two weeks before he met this young 16 yr old.
i hope she realises that her future may not be as rosy as she thinks it will.
he is claiming he doesnt want to come to the uk - but of course he would say that now - hes not stupid and knows thats the first thing people will say ... he knows that once theyre married he will get one so no need to ask about it or express the desire to have one

he may not want to come though - he seems to have a good life out there, good job, possible inheritance etc
