I was surprised it wasn't Orson Welles, but deeply impressed that Johnny Depp was in there at Number Two. I guess in Brando's absencce, he would just move up to Number One. Having watched him in Pirates Of The Caribean and The Libertine, I would say he was in the right place.

I was very surprised that Johnny Depp was voted number 2. i do think he's a really good actor, and I'm glad they didn't feel they had to go with a 'classic' actor, but I'm not sure he's that good.

I didn't see the whole thing. where did Cary Grant and Gary Cooper feature?

Brando is a great actor, but his roles have never been very varied. I think Al Paccino or James Stuart have shown more variety.

I watched it all and cannot believe Paul Newman was'nt on the list. He should definately have been top ten. Maybe he was there somewhere but I was in the loo?
Pacino and DeNero better than Brando

yeah. i think they gave brando some bonus points 4 bein dead. deniro and pacino are both a lot better. jonny depp is a great actor, he was definately worthy of his place.

and edward norton is also one of my favourite actors

where did steve buscemi come?

Where was Stacey Keach in the list?
Or Dolph Lundgren?
Should have both been in the top ten at least.
where did Jodie Foster place? Easliy one of the best of all time but got a feeling she wasnt top ten. DeNiro tops for me. Glad Johnny Depp in there and of modern day greats surely Nicholas Cage should been up there too

No Paul Newman , Robert Redford , Nicolas Cage , Michael Caine , Sean Connery , good point gutfish - no Steve Buscemi , no Robert Duvall , no Ewan Mcgregor , another good point mkt - no Jodie Foster (2 oscars) , no Kevin Spacey , no Gary Cooper , no Henry Fonda , No Jack Lemmon , no Kirk Douglas , no Bill Murray , no Samuel L. Jackson , no Morgan Freeman............

Johnny Depp at number two??

And tying Pacino and De Niro was a bit sloppy.

And what was Brad Pitt doing in there??

no kevin spacey? jeez

Geez Galltin everyone you mentioned there is worthy of top 20 at least! I havent seen the list myself, just heard the top 10 on the radio.....Brad Pitt was in there! Oh for a minute i thought it must be April Fools Day. Sure his pretty boy face may float a lot of peoples boats but best actor.......hmmmmm there are soooo many others that i don't rate all that highly but think they deserve to be higher than Pitt in any poll. eg Tin Robbins, Joe Pesci, Robert Redford, Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington... im sure they were probably in there somewhere but just wanted to throw a few names into the world Vs Brad Pitt debate!

Tom Hanks was in there but way down at 39!!

Denzil was there , no Tim Robbins , no Joe Pesci (that really annoyed me) , no Robert Redford.
