ok thanks everyone..
god this pc of mine is so slow, ..
So why did you deliberately misslead us by saying the police have only just been informed?
Question Author
i am not misinforming you.
this incident is connected to the sword.
but another incident earlier in the evening about the fight did occur, my son was there just watching only.
i was trying to isolate from the other incident, so has not to confuse people.. if they find cctv from the earlier fight, they will connect it to my son for the later incident. if that sounds right.
My mate works as a controller in a security centre. He says the footage gets automatically replaced as and when the hard disk gets full - usually about 3 months (but obviously this will depend on the size of disk and how much is being recorded).

However the police will usually come in and request footage of a specific incident a few days after it is reported. If the cameras have captured anything useful my mate burns it to CD or VHS, the police collect it, and it can be used in court later.
