I have just found 5 unopened tubes of vegetarian pate in my cupboard and noticed the expiry dates are around 6 months to 3 months ago.

they are the metal type tubes that you pierce the opening with the back of the lid, so completely airtight.

do you think these will be ok?
i know some companies put expiry dates on that are long before the product actually goes off, but given the circumstances and type of product do you think these will be ok to eat?
Perhaps just the 3 month ones?

I have ibs so i don't want to risk setting my tum off but i also don't want to waste food.

if it was just one i'd bin it, but 5...

many thanks

also these are generally long life products and don't get refrigerated until opened and then last for 4-5 weeks.

I'd eat them, my nan had stuff in her cupboards for years (before sell/use by dates) which I've eaten and never had any ill effects.

Me too - I eat out of date stuff and don't suffer any ill consequences. As long as your careful about what you choose - if its been unopened I guess its fine. Same with cans etc. We recently ate a box of chocs which had a sell by date of Sept 05 on them. They were lovely, they looked fine and tasted fine - no problems.
I'd eat them. If the tube is sealed and not pierced or damaged in any way, I don't think they should be a problem. You could always try a small taste of one, and if it tastes funny then throw it away.
Someone recently found a tin of chicken that was purchased during WW2 & they ate it with no ill efects.
