I've been in contact with a cataloge company about not recieving my statements. I have told them over the phone and they have not known what to do about it and it was left. I then wrote to them 8 weeks ago with no reply. The next thing I know, I receive a creditors notice saying I have to pay the full amount in 7 days or they'll go to the county court. Where do I stand on this? Is there a way I can make payments? My husband was made bankrupt last october so we don't have this amoutn of money to pay in full. Any advice is very appreciated Thanks x

Ok, well hopefully you kept notes of the dates/times you called them and a name of who you spoke to. That will help you if things go further. Also when you wrote to them did you send the letter recorded delivery? That way you can prove that you sent it and also that they received it. As for making payments the company should have a credit control department. Ive never known a large company to not have one. Contact them, explain your financial situation and they should then discuss with you a way of making payments. Even if its only a few pounds a month, it shows you are willing and committed to paying the money at a rate you can afford. For further advice why not contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau?
