Was anyone else surprised to see The Sun's headline on Monday about Kate Moss and cocaine use? Admittedly I didnt read the whole story but isnt this old news?, OK she allegedly did coke in Nelson Mandelas house but I didnt find that particularly bothersome (if true), those who use drugs often do so in unusual/risky/improper places, (does the venue matter?). It occurred to me that the Sun perhaps felt that Kate's rehabilitation and phoenix rise from the ashes was too quick and decided to boot the boot in again. I wonder what anyone else thinks?

Paper never refused ink, as my granny used to say.

If they thought it'd sell papers, the Sun would put the boot into the editor's mother.

really tho sun-who cares??? I couldn't care less what she got up to, and I'm much less bothered by Pete Doherty's antics, but if he's driving up one way streets in stolen cars and is found in posession of heroin and crack cocaine I hope he gets proper criminal treatment and not just given another chance to go to a posh clinic to pretend he's getting off drugs.

The Sun, as usual squandered an opportunity to portray the real problem with the promotion of celebrity drug abuse in the west.

It showed her complete lack of respect for Nelson Mandella and could have caused serious repercussions for him at the time had his political opponents got hold of the information.

South African drug use has soared in the past decade and organised crime has begun to use poorly paid and motivated police officers as couriers and traffickers, making the eradication of this blight on South African society all the more difficult.

I know its not fashionable in England to condemn celebrities for their habits and influence on society, but their endorsement of drugs enables criminals to exert a heavier than usual influence in developing societies like South Africa and could help to undermine much of the positive work being carried out by a government desperate to avoid the corrosive pitfalls of corruption in the organs of state.

Hear Hear Drusilla - a sensible voice in the wilderness.

Sweet - by her own admission didnt find the story worthy enough to read it thoroughly.

Forget it was reported in the Sun - it happened and I agree Kate and her buddies definately think they are of a different ilk from us peasants and are as such untouchable until their sh!t hits the fan

She is only reaping what she has sown - nothing to do with papers kicking someone when they are down. She brought it on herself. The photo was there for ***** sake - what more evidence do you want. She was extremely disrespectful in the home of a very honourable man - along with her fellow snorter who cant even speak to low-life.

The sun, you didn't think it was for reading did you?? No,no, its for cleaning your windows with or wrapping up your Fish & Chips, you certainly wouldn't use it for reading!!
At least you buy it 78:)
I wouldn't degrade myself to buy the Sun, but I have been given it to read, and keep it for the aforementioned purposes! I do however read the Daily Mail because they cover the most interesting stories.
The DM had a more intelligent take on the Cocaine Kate story. But don't get me started on newspapers, the Sun is bum roll, but the Glasgow Herald is something else!! Something not pleasant!

Although I sense a telling off from Dris I accept what she and Drusilla are saying. I was airing out my inital reaction and on reflection Miss Moss' actions in NM 's house were out of order. Thanks all for posting.

Oh BTW, Im a bloke :-)
