Hello there!

I am currently involved in freelance Graphic Design work after receiving my BA in Design and I was wondering if anyone could help me or give me some advice on this query that I have:

a company has approached me to see if I can design a brochure based on their company and also a piece of Direct Mail to advertise their company. It is only a short-term job and they have asked me to specify my desired pay for this job bearing in mind the shortness of it.

Does anyone know what kind of figure I should be requesting for freelance work such as this?

My best bet would be to call a simular company or person doing a simular thing and see what there charges are.

I would then take off 5% so you are competitive !

I use freelancers a lot and it depends on location and expereince. Outside London freelance rates can be anything from 200 to 350 per day for a good designer.

Most places who expect a discount for more days.

Look to charge what you are comfortable with, but don't sell yourself short.
