Further to my problems with IE8. I have just had the 'blue-screen' ( in Chrome), stating windows has stopped working to protect my computer. error messages,
STOP 0x0000003B, 0x00000000C0000005, 0xFFFF80002FIA41F , 0xFFFFF88005ED3140, 0x0000000000000000. It mentions new hardware or software. I have not installed any for months. Is there any easy way to correct this or should I take the 'tower' to a repair shop ? P

Assuming you are running Windows 7 there is a Microsoft Hotfix update available for the 0x0000003B error that you have encountered.

Hi, pinkyboyid, thanks for reply. Will running this 'hot-fix' be safe when I have the other errors listed in my question ?
The important most significant part of the error code is 0x0000003B and the other codes that follow are less important.

I personally would try the Hotfix and in the rare event it gave rise to some other issue it can be uninstalled via the 'Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall a program'

Hi, thanks for that, I have run the 'fix' it just 'unzipped' some files, I know not what. I've done a restart and all seems well at present, apart from the trouble with IE I mentioned in a previous post. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, P
