Can anyone help, i am trying to get building work in the Uae, I am an experienced builder but would also do tiling, plastering etc etc. I am struggling to get a contact, or find vacancies from this end and get the impression that you need to be out there applying. Unless i can speak to anyone that already works out there, pherhaps your home on leave/holiday at the moment and yu know a contact or agency that i can get in touch with. Pherhaps you know someone working abroad and they would be able to put me in touch with someone?, i would be greatful for any help. I have applied for jobs through the internet, but i seem to be getting nowhere, i get the impression it would be easier if i was out there and apply that way, but its a bit of a risk going out there without a job in line. Please can anyone help? a contact for an agency that pherhaps you are working for, or know someone thats working for would be great. Many thanks

I've just Googled "work as builder, UAE" and lots of agencies came up.
I am new in Dubai too, I am here from Florida, USA for a research that is based on the education in UAE (http://rachelpatton.livejournal.com/705.html). My husband however is an engineer and he has having difficulty in getting a decent job. I would be very obliged if someone can let me know hoe to apply if there is some proper channel or something to apply for jobs in Dubai!
