It's ok Sib :) can still email my phone allows me to do that :) but hello (waves)

Basically Tony.......it's dead. Possible chance of repair but I think a new motherboard is extreme when I could probably buy a new one instead
If I were you I'd get a new puter, Queenie.

I'm wanting to speak to Samsung first. Ok the warranty expired on the first but it went poof 3 days later? I've had loads of samsung products before and have not had any bother at all. I just want to see what they have to say as I think this is a bit disappointing in a way
Yeah, see what Samsung say then, Queenie. fingers crossed for you.

Go back to shop and claim under Sale of Goods Act 1979, not unreasonable to expect computer to last more than a year. Their initial answer will be 'no' so you may have to take it further. Remember a warranty is an addition to your rights under SOGA, not a replacement.

You may have to get an independent report from an expert to prove the fault was present when you bought goods and was not caused by your misuse. Information from Samsung would be helpful.

Problem unlikely to be motherboard. There's a known problem with the UEFI which is the internal program the laptop uses to start itself up before loading Windows. In short, it's a Samsung programming error. Search for 'bricked samsung laptop'.

I didn't get it in a shop Plowter. I had it checked in a shop and I was told that it could possibly be the motherboard or a problem with the hard drive. It is totally unresponsive. The guy has never seen anything like this before especially in a windows 8 machine

I spoke to Samsung this evening and I have to fish out my receipt/Invoice and email them a photo of it and they will arrange for it to be taken in to be seen if it can be repaired. So here is hoping there maybe a light at the end of my tunnel
