Hi, sweety. Yes I did, thank you. Happy New Year to you. I did wonder where you had got to.

Very good. Have I missed any excitement? I wanted to chat on that other thread when I saw you. But I think its frowned on.
Not much excitement in my life. Just the usual, mundane day to day things. Back to normal this week with school on Wed. and Thurs. I do like that.

Ah yes, was going to ask you how/ if the job was going. Are they trying/do you want them to increase your hours?
Just transferring to my laptop. I can't type very well on this tablet. It has a mind of its own.

Lol. Just heard on the radio. Teachers in Mexico are protesting against a new law. Apparently, they've traditionally passed their jobs on to their children (or sold them) Mad world, innit.
It's not a job as such, sweety. I'm a volunteer. They would love it if I went in five days a week but I'm trying to find other things to do with my time. Two afternoons is plenty for me. If they paid me, I might think differently.
How funny. Most of the children of teachers I know would definitely not want to follow in their parents' footsteps.

I remember an interview with a union leader when the dockers were on strike ( 1970s, I think ) The interviewer said' you've been guaranteed a job for life, what more do you want.'
The union guy said 'we want guaranteed jobs for our children and grandchildren.'
People get weird ideas, don't they. ;-)

Nobody could touch the print unions for chutzpah, though. Imo.
They got away with it for a long time.
Well, I can understand the principle behind that but my parents didn't want me to follow in their footsteps, especially as my Dad was a miner. He said, 'No daughter o' mine is going dahn t'pit' ;-)

Blimey, I've always thought of you as a 'home counties' girl, tilly. ;)
I'm going back to Stoke for a few days next week. I will revert to type!
