Hello All. I have a three year old Renault Clio Extreme !.2 Engine. I have either lost or misplaced my key and am now reduced to my spare. I have contacted my local Renault dealer about the loss. Because the key is a three button coded key Renault say to replace it will cost me an arm and half a leg. So...can any one out there tell me about any alternatives or do I have to let the motorist be ripped off again. On that note I wish all ABRs a very happy, healthy and prosperous new year.Still sad old bad tempered git.

They aren't lost - they're just hiding until you have forked out your arm and a leg and then they will appear in a jacket pocket or in the fridge or somewhere else.......
Now is your chance to prove whether you believe or not; say "please, St Anthony find my car keys". I've asked him to help you.........but it will only work if you promise to report back.
My other half owns a Renault Megane - the local Renault dealer wants £140 for a replacement/duplicate fob, which I would estimate costs less than £5 to manufacture.

Maybe such a cost will effect your future choice of vehicle manufacturer, when buying your next car.

Personally if I were you, I would get by with the one key - until the other turned up (which would probably happen as soon as you part with £140).
