Thanks Caran
I was at that concert Caran. If I remember correctly they were supported by Quo, Kim Wilde, Inxs and The Alarm.

Horseshoes I am so envious, I would have given anything to be there.
I have to admit to you Caran, I'm not THAT fussed on Queen. OH is the Queen fan, but I do LOVE Status Quo. Saying that, Queen were brilliant. I believe it was their last concert. I have a couple of cousins (sisters) who have travelled all over the place to see Queen. They met them all and have lots of photos with them. Not groupies, just genuine fans. No doubt they'll be watching tonight.
Many biggus, just flipped the channel :)
The greatest showman and frontman of any band in history IMHO.
No one has ever held an audience in the palm of their hand like he did at that Wembley concert in 1986.
horseshoes, I don't mind a bit of Quo myself, but how you can prefer them to Queen - well, it just boggles my brain.

Good thing we're not all the same, innit?
Loved Quo but Freddie was just something else, very special.
Agree with Chill re Wembley '86, a definitive performance on how to grab and hold an audience.

I also like Quo. I once won tickets to see them at Cheltenham Town Hall courtesy of our local newspaper. Very good even though it was a standing only concert!

We have to wonder, well I do, without the lead guitar, would Queen have been as popular??
Don't get me wrong, I love Queen.
That was wonderful Chill, thanks for posting, gave me goosebumps + a laugh:-)
Ferlew, that applies to the majority of groups/bands, don't you think?
I think Queen would have been popular without the lead guitar. Imagine Queen without Brian May and then imagine Queen without Freddie Mercury. The former has been done and the results were mediocre but Queen without Freddie Mercury would be like the Rolling Stones without Mick Jagger.

Thanks Chilldoubt I enjoyed that.
Just listening now to Brian May on acoustic, hadn't thought that way before HC, you are right.
