I have a samsung plasma TV modelPS42c which is three years old. I have recently started to experience problems. Sometimes when I switch the set on the picture is red,and after a time screen goes blank. Other times it is red with no sound.

I threatened it with being sent to the tip before xmas and but as a last resort took out all the leads and put them back in, it worked over Xmas but the problem has now returned.

Before I replace the set can anyone advise whether this is simply a faulty lead that I can cure by supplying new leads or whether this is a major problem?

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Try a new power cable, or can you reset to factory settings via the remote ?
How old is the TV ? There should be an option in settings to 'wash' the screen if it has screen burn ?
I've no idea what the problem is, and this may not seem very helpful....but if you'd bought it at John Lewis, it would still be under warranty (free 5-year included on every TV). Perhaps if you have to replace it....?
