I know it sounds daft, but you never see dead birds, other than the ones your evil cat has killed, so where do they die? I mean, think of the millions of big pigeons, they must die somewhere :-S

Hi Lorna

My garden

The sexton beetles take much dead stuff away; http://www.kendall-bioresearch.co.uk/silphid.htm
I must admit, 'roadkill' is my only answer. But then, normally dopey birds who get up at 4am with a death mission in mind do hit the windscreen or radiator with depressing regularatory. Never got a member of the crow family though. Spreading the question further though, have you ever run over a rat? I've only got one in my 15 years driving, despite my best efforts. (though it was a proud moment in my life).
