Hi

After many problems with my car I now have further problems. Firstly I had starter motor problems of which are nearly solved but now the car when running is giving a very load noise kinda like something spinning very fast and coming from around the starter motor, could the starter still be spinning whilst the engine is still running? and if so what could be the problem?

Other thing is that my brakes are not working like when the car is not running, someone said that it could be a fuse gone, is this true?

Many thanks

Your brakes will not work very well when the engine is not running, as the brakes need servo assistance that is only available when the engine is running.

Its rare to have the starter motor spinning when the engine has fired. Can't give you any advise on this problem

Hi

Thanks for the answer but the car is running and the brakes are as if it was not running hence why I ask if it could be a fuse.

Thanks

The brakes work on vaccum from the inlet mainfold via a pipe ,which is prob cracked due to age

Your starter sounds as if it is not disengaging, possibly stuck, broken spring or not switching off. Get an exchange starter. The brakes are power assisted by vacuum from the manifold if petrol and a pump if deisel. The pump, hoses or servo could be faulty.
