I would enclose in a christmas card an offer to babysit on whatever terms you want depending on how good a friend this is. As a new mum she may welcome a helping hand from time to time.

If you know her well, a nice warm housecoat that can be thrown into the washing machine as there will be baby sick on it all the time....
