if you have formated the disk then no folder should be found....

Do you have any more details as to what you did?

I did put in my recovery disk. I didn't do a full reformatt but seems it made a new directory and my old files are in the c drive

when you say all your files in it do you mean your personal files or system files...

everything my personal files and programmes went into a new dirctory and a new formatted directory was created with out any of my personal data

It should be possible to delete (as the system files have default locations anyway) it but it may be wise to make a back up to CD first. That way you can always replace it in safe mode should anything go nutz.

I've come across one or two recovery disks that operate like this and it's a real pain.... I also prefer to rebuild with proper os disks as you have more control over how your pc is set up but this does require some good pc knowledge skills..
