I am thinking of buying a new mobile with mp3, is it true that the battery runs out quicker when the mp3 player is used on the mobile ? would anyone recommend it ?

yes, it is true.

though it shoulnd't affect your usage too much. you may have to charge your phone every night, or every other night, instead of once every 4 days or something like that.
