Corsa 16v 1999, lorry ran in back and since repair it has been letting in water. Took it back to repair garage as under guarantee but of course they could not find anything wrong or see where water was coming in. They said water couldnt travel upward!

It seems too much of a coincidence that it ssince had collision and back end smashed in. Any suggestions or any other Corsa owners with same problem.

If they did not repair your car properly tell them to repair it properly!

If it was paid for by your insurance company get on to them.

Usually water comes in through the rear lights, they might not be fitted properly or they might not have put the foam backing on them. or the rubber that goes all the way around the opening. when we have this problem at work we move the trims out the way, dry everything get someone in the boot close it and get a hosepipe and pour water everywhere to locate where it comes in (works even better with a pressure washer but might take a while before you notice) also water does travel upwards when you are driving especially at higher speeds.
also check where the electrics go from the car into the tailgate usually covered in black rubber and they clip in either side they might have broken them and they might not be clipping in properly. if car has a sunroof the drain channels might be blocked as well. or under the bumper they have flaps that let air out but nothing in, they might not have put them in trying to rip you off and save money. chances are it is their fault and i would do whaat matey said and get onto your insurance company if all these things fail

Thankyou for your advice. They checked the sunroof drains and they took all the inner trims off and poured water over, a little trickle of water was coming in through the seal on the quaterlight but not enough that would be causing the problem. I will go back to my insurer , thankyou.
