On visa.com http://www.visa.com/globalgateway/gg_selectcountry.html? retcountry=1 they have a list of the countires - since places like Vatican City are on there, but Cuba is missing, I firslty thought that they didn't accept them.

However, I have also found this sight: http://www.acrosscuba.com/index.php?L=3&B=36 and here it states that you can use both Visa and Visa Electron.

Sorry, have not been there and can't help you further.

It may be an idea to pop into some travel agents and ask -most travel agents I know are fairly well travelled - you will find one who has been.
Yes you can use Visa. The only card not accepted is American Express.
My dad went on a SagaLouts holiday to Cuba earlier this year, and he had problems using his credit cards over there.
He was told that if the issuing bank had any links to america, then they weren't too keen to accept them.
Dear oh dear Mr Vic - Cuba *is* on visa.com

It's in the Caribbean
http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/cu.htm l
but visa.com says that, for example, Havana (you need to search by city) doesn't have any ATMs that you can use.
With that in mind, I'd be surprised if any other cities did.

Hi there, I've been to Cuba a few times, last visit was Sept last year. There are very few shops which will take Visa it's still a "cash only" country, there again there is very little to buy anyway as there are only a handful of shops even in the tourist places. You need to take cash GBP as it's also hard to exchange travellers cheques (Never take American Express travellers cheques as they will not entertain them at all !!!), you can exchange cash at the airport into cuban peso's as you can't get them here. Most of the hotels have safes in the rooms, I'd just say don't walk around with too much cash in your back pocket/purse.

Hope you have a fantastic time - I'm very jealous !

You need to contact the cuban consulate in London, if that is where you live, you need a tourist visa which costs 15 plus a photocopy of your passport. They are open mon-fri from 9.30am -12.30 pm. Hurry!
