Ipad Beeping When Sound Switched Off

iPad is telling me I have emails by beeping, when sound button is switched off - orange light shows .... and picture not turning around when I turn the iPad round to Landscape. Help ! Thanks all

The sound button doesn't affect notification sounds. Sorry, can't help on the other thing unless you have turned it off in Settings.

Milvus

The button at the side can also lock the display. Try turning it off (no orange marker) to see if it releases the page orientation

Yes milvus the page is OK when the orange light button is switched to the left. When it is switched to the right and orange button shows, it locks the page orientation, although it didn't used to, but I thought this button was to turn off the sound ?

Sorry I am getting all mixed up. When button is switched to the right the page won't turn .... This is a new thing and a logo comes up as well. Can I change this, and to turn off the sound ?

In Settings / General look for "Use Side Switch To" (about halfway down) Choose Mute for turning off sound

Thanks milvus, it wasn't on Mute, I have changed it x
