I have Sky+ downstairs and a bit of Sky upstairs which conks out most of the time. However, during the week I bought myself a plasma which has Freeview. Do you think it wise to give up SKY. I do only watch repeats - I don't have full package - just pay £27 per months. Glad of any answers.

Dog has been ill for 2 weeks - he started to tear the face and neck of himself 2 weeks ago and I thought it was tumour was eating him. Fortunately vet has got him back to new. Thanks for asking Anne.
We've never bothered with Sky, conne - Freeview'e quite enough for us, all the channels you can get with Freeview cover loads of repeats and dramas.

thanks Boxy
Do you want to record and demand programmes? If not then you could probably do away with Sky, perhaps have a look to see if the channels you prefer to watch are available through Freeview?
Question Author
Eccles there would be a few I could record and wouldn't like to miss - eg Paul O'Grady next Monday as on that day and night I do voluntary work.
I would miss Sky+ now that we've had it for a good while so see how you go
I watch more TV since I got rid of sky...
Question Author
That is an eye-opener Ummmm
Question Author
Psybbo would it not be too much trouble to get rid of Sky and if you miss it getting it back again.

I guess it is expensive £324 per year for a few programmes.
We ended up flicking through channels and not actually watching anything. Now we watch set programmes...
i ditched sky tv and am more than happy with freeview, i have a hd record pause set top box .
I like sky and enjoy having it but its one of the things I could give up if I needed to.
We only have Sky+ because OH watches horseracing (so he pays for it). Therefore I could live without it.
Your Sky box would continue to receive all of the channels listed here if you ceased subscribing:

However the recording function would cease to work (and any programmes you'd already recorded would be lost).

Thanks buenchico for that extensive answer. Also Lozzer that would be a thing I would be interested in - that set top box to record while I am out. Think I will go for that.

Also the only thing I did watch was Gold in Sky - and now they are just complete repeats. Will get around to looking for the set top box. Thanks all for your answers.
