We are nearing the completion of our web site for our "wooden cabin to let" but would also like to take advantage of free advertising on Facebook and maybe Twitter, any advice? I have never done this before, I use Facebook but only socially and I dont use it a lot. As for Twitter, I have never really used it and the whole thing confuses me.

Put it free on gumtree with a link on fb

Thanks Tambo, We will also put an add on Gumtree but we really would like a good Facebook page.
Not difficult but take your time over it - good photos will be a massive help.

Then you need to get everyone you know and his dog to 'like' it to help spread the word.

Twitter is no good for you at this stage, really
Don't forget to put it on here: http://www.kcdogfriendly.co.uk/home/
This is a facebook page that is already set up for such as this: https://www.facebook.com/groups/211482309016774/
and don't forget to mention if it is enclosed etc - I went to a dog friendly cottage but the garden was not enclosed and we were next to a road!! not a lot of good really

And really hype it up mention if you provide linens and towels etc and welcome baskets if you do that too
You could put it on Ebay, I know it will cost a fee, but you can put a link to your web page. I have a friend who does this with her 3 holiday properties and she is fully booked all year round.

Some great help here, thanks guys :-)
Create a facebook account for the cabin, take lots of lovely pics, and invite everyone on your friends list to 'like' it.

It really works. My friend opened a tapas bar. I 'liked' his page....some of my friends 'liked' the link I posted and as a result he's been fully booked since he opened (obviously other people were doing the same)

Make the page as clear as possible including prices. If I'm looking for a weekend away I don't want to hunt to find out the cost, and cost is usually the thing that most people are thinking about.

Should I be creating an open group and inviting lots of people or just create an ordinary FB page, I think a group would be better, what do you think?

I admit to being a bit lost with this, I tried the builder that "hc4361" gave me but that was going to cast a minimum of £6 a day!!
