true sandy- but its still perverted
Maybe, but there are aspects of perversion that aren't illegal.
yep - - unfortunately
It might be a bit obvious but all these are men. Hasn't there been any lesbians caught fiddling with young girls, or are only men capable of such things ?
///true sandy- but its still perverted///

Attitudes like this disgust me.
Daffy, surely the act of sodomy is a perversion according to the definition of the word (even though homosexuality is socially acceptable) which makes it's practitioners of whatever age perverts.
Sodomy is not exclusive to homosexual sex, or even human sex.
daffy, ^ and neither is murder, rape or theft, hardly admirable acts though.
Once you start trying to define "perversion" you are on dangerous and unwholesome ground. Laws generally aren't made to comat such an idea.

I actually don't think you can be prosecuted for breaking a law which now no longer exists. I may be wrong.
So presumably the charge is more serious. I hope not, because Gambo strikes me as one of the good guys.
Have they all got at least 3 vowels in their name ?
In general, I don't think you can be prosecuted under a law that no longer exists, in that the idea behind it is no longer valid. Hence you couldn't be prosecuted for being a petty chapman wandering abroad. But you could be for revenue offences because illegally avoiding tax is still a crime, and it wouldn't matter if your not doing something which you were then required to do, but which now you are not because of some change in therevenue law, came to light.
I suspect that the police are erring on the side of caution. They don't want anybody to be able to come forward and say "I made a complaint about so and so and you ignored it AGAIN"
What a pity they didn't err on the side of caution when it came to dealing with Andrew Mitchell !
"After all Gary Glitter was not a DJ at the BBC."

no but he was the one of the crowd "warm up" people on Ready Steady Go
that wasn't the BBC, though.
