Tried your suggestion of Branston sauce as a substitute of the now crap HP, fantastic, better than HP was to start with I think.

I'm trying to find Dave's suggestion of the HP with Guinness. I'm sure I've seen. It in our Tosco but it's not there lately, probably didn't sell enough, maybe they should mix it with Jagerbombs instead then the sods round here would buy it.

Seems it was a limited edition, rocky.
I like Chef's sauce. Not many places sell it though.

I'm still trying to find the mushroom sauce someone mentioned (I think it was triggs) looked a few times....forget to the rest of the time.

im sure ive seen hp with guiness lately
Great in cooking adds a real hit of umami, yum.
Sainsbury's do a mushroom ketchup in their speciality section, don't know if that's what you are looking for.
Yep...but every time I go I can't find it or forget to look.

I rarely shop on-line but remind me some time in December when I do an on-line shop for the boys.
If it is the Watkins Mushroom Ketchup Waitrose definitely sell it and it can be found in some Tesco branches.

For an awesome brown sauce I recommend Wilkin&Sons......yummmm

Bugger, forgot about the mushroom sauce and I recognise that bottle. I couldn't get the Branston in our local Tesco, I only noticed it in Morrisons this morning by chance.

Chef Sauce, that's Irish isn't it?
Crafty is having a siesta :)

Eccles, is that brown sauce sweet?
I don't have a sweet tooth and I like it.
