Please help. My year old Ragdoll speyed she cat has been having difficulty passing a stool.
Given my lack of money for vets bills, is there anything I can do with her diet to help her?
She only ever eats Purina biscuits, although she has access to meat that we feed our other cats.
Her stools are hard and she has terrible trouble passing them.
Her name is Sybil, and I love her, and feel useless to help her. Would a bit of fresh fish help?

It sounds like the beginning of a joke doesn't it?
"What do you give a constipated cat?"
Well I'm not offended if there is a humorous punch line out there somewhere.
Must be the Scouse in me.
Ladybirder (sorry to digress, theland) - my sympathies for the loss of your little companion, especially after such a long life with you. Big hugs.

Yes me too. Losing a dear pet is wrenching.
Thank you for the condolences Theland and boxy. Oh and boxy have you noticed Chaffinch is back:-)
Welcome back, by the way Ha'Aretz... If she'll eat it try just a few canned green beans maybe twice a day to start. Usually they really like them and they are high in fibre and works wonders on our own...

Hello Clanad. Hop things are well with you.
Lots of ideas here, but yes, I have ignored her diet and will correct that.
