In britain it would be quite difficult without this small piece of metal. However, not all parts of the UK have stopped using what it replaced. What is it? I had thought of a mobile or a remote, but I don't think they are "metal"

Thats what I meant £1 coins replacing £1 notes
the word "tin" is in "Britain" - could it be that sneaky?

Or - the key we used to use to open corned beef tins.....

Thank you all. Going to go with the £1 coin.
Not sure if the Channel Islands are classed as the UK. British Isle definitely. Anyway, they still have £1 notes.
