Grass?
geets?
I think your G is wrong - James is Jams/gets stuck and E is the drug.
Question Author
thank you all for your answers If James Geets or Grass then an M, E or A starts 14D. Will investigate . cheers
What is the clue for 14d?
James looks fine. Where was your G from?
Question Author
The G comes from ASSIGN. However 13A JAMES satisfies the special instructions. One needs to choose the correct letter in clashing answers and a G was required from this across answer as part of word of title of book. 13A can be written in as GAMES as it is a proper word.Follow?? need to read instructions in full. 14D One's tight-one's getting into the drink abroad.= MISER which changes into MINER and again into MINOR. http://www.theguardian.com/r1/crossword/genius-resource to display crossword
