Warning Light on corsa!!!!

I have an M reg vauxhall corsa and a warning light comes on sometimes when I'm driving, something to do with engine electrics. Should I worry?? It doesn't always come on, but when it does it stays on until I turn the engine off, then when I turn the engine back on it stays off for a while. Nothing else happens to the car though.

Best to have it checked out by your local Vauxhall garage they will use their computer to find out whats wrong and will inform you, cost approx �50.00 better safe than sorry, dont want to scare you but imagine driving along a motorway and then bang no power? at least you can catch the problem early it may save some money too in the long run, could be a sensor playing up,thats nowhere near the end of the world to have put right do have it checked out though.better safe than sorry.

I had the same thing on my Astra.

Sometimes it would come on 2 or 3 times during a journey, sometimes it would not come on for months, sometimes just for a second or two then one day it stopped coming on!

I never did anything about it except taking on and off all the electric plugs I could see in the engine bay, this did not cure it but after that it very rarely came on.

if its the engine management light that is intermittently illuminating ,then the chances are its a dodgy or dirty connection to one of the sensors,it will need a proper diagnostics check though,not neccesarilly by the dealer,have you got a camco local to you? They are about 30-40% cheaper than dealers generally.

I have the same problem on my astra, i have a friend who owns a garage and he plugged in the error code checker and said that there were no error codes stored in the engine management system. He said that a code is only stored when the light is permently lit up and that its proberbly a sensor thats playing up. Its been running like that for almost 4 years with no problems.
