Can anyone advise the best currency of Travellers Cheques to take to India that will give the most preferential exchange rate,- Many thanks

I was over in Delhi & Calcutta last year and just used the hole in the wall machine. Plenty of them. May be a problem if you go up country though.

Whichever currency you can get most cheaply here - you are going to be paying two lots of commission (or spread, or both).

I'd suspect sterling or dollars or euros.
