Hi all, I have the Samsung Galaxy SII running with vodafone and an icon has appeared and I dont know its meaning. It's a white disk with a bold red arrow pointing down on to it, at the top right of the screen. Checked the manuals but can't find it.

As I said... "Checked the manuals but can't find it"
are you downloading anything? that's the only thing i can think of - also have you updated the software?
If you long hold it - i think that what it is called when you keep your finger on it for several seconds - do you get the option to view the app info? You could try this out with a trusted icon to see if the info option is available rather than taking the chance that you'll open the unknown app.

Thanks all (sorry triggerhappy, didn't mean to sound short) Not downloading, or at least not actioned a download. When I press and hold, todays date comes up!? Think software is up to date, but will check that.
And, no I don't have a file manager app.
Thanks again.
