product key
everything was installed with the laptop.there was not a cd with it.i put microsoft office on earlier and another product key came on and this was accepted but it is only activated for 60 days.i hope whoever reads this can understand it because i cant.i'm scared to mess with the computer in case i drop a clanger.the laptop is a windows vista 2007

Microsoft Office isn't part of Windows. It's an optional extra that you have to pay for. In order to draw you into paying for it, Microsoft give you a 60 day free trial. After that period, as Mycats states, you'll either have to pay up or find alternative software.
There's absolutely no reason to have Microsoft Office on your laptop. OpenOffice does the same jobs as well, or better, than anything that Microsoft Office can do. It's fully compatible with Microsoft Office so that users can read and edit files produced in Microsoft Office, and vice versa. (Before someone posts to correct me, I'll add that 'fully compatible' is a slight exaggeration, since OpenOffice might not be able to cope with a few Microsoft Office files with incredibly complex macros in them. In practice, the average user never encounters such documents).
So, unless you want to spend money unnecessarily, ditch Microsoft Office and download OpenOffice, totally free of charge, from here:

Open Office is probably all most users would ever need. In fact many users don't even use spreadsheets and Wordpad that comes with Windows provides basic wordprocesssing facilities so Open Office is nore than they need.
I do get tired of people who say that Open Office is as good or better than Microsoft Office. It is adequate for many users but it isn't as good.
Open Office does not do Visual Basic unless it is installed using a separate download and set up by someone who understands what they are doing. A number of other advanced MS Office features are not supported by Open Office.
