what is the most beautiful place to visit in india?

I am going to india for 2 months in september and wondered if anyone could suggest a beautiful hotel, or restaurant or just some special magical place off the beaten track that takes your breath away.. i want it to be the most romantic 2 months of my life!

Romantic? I spent 2 months out there a little while ago and I have to say that it was one of the most amazing places I've ever been to. The architecture, the infrastucture, the people and the scenery will make you laugh, cry, happy and sad.
I must admit that I can't recall any part of my Indian experience as romantic, however, I did stay on a house boat up in Kashmir and that was stunning. In fact, I would say the Kashmir region is the most awe inspiring place I've ever had the pleasure of visiting.
