passports - (changing your name on them)

a friend of mine is currently in the process of changing his name by deed-poll, when this is complete he'll need to replace his current passport to one with his new name on it - how do you do this ? from what ive found out already he just needs to send off a passport application form with his new papers from the deed-pole office - seems too easy ???

yes thats all you need to do if you go into the post office they check the form for you but im sure you have to pay to change the name on a passport?
