My phone contract is coming to an end and I want to upgrade to a new phone but need to keep the same number. I phoned T Mobile today (who I'm with) and they said I couldn't do it! Is that right? I thought you could keep the same number as long as you stayed with the same network. Is there anything else I could do?

i thought you could and have always kept my number even when I changed suppliers. I bet if you threaten to leave they will let you do what you want - I may be wrong!

no you've not read it wrong! Thats why I don't understand. I want to upgrade to a new phone and pay more money to do so on the same network but keep my number. They told me no!!
You probably can't get any of the deals they advertise for new customers and keep the same number.
If you can't just get an upgrade, it's the first time I've ever heard it happening
Ive never ever heard of this happening, it should be a straightforward upgrade of equipment only - not a new number !
