//Counsel >>> Mr Smith is this the woman that intimidated you.
Mr Smith >>> Ummm! //

OMG!! AB's own is a burkha-wearing witness intimidator???
:-0
There's a well respected ABer named, Ummm. You can't be serious in suggesting...
presumably the person she was intimidating (as per charge) knew full well who she was, burkha or no burkha, otherwise she wouldn't be in the dock now.
Do you think Mr Smith knows ummmm?
We are in England. Adapt please to our laws
English/British Muslims are known to wear full covering, too....
But the laws, as shown in the case of the Sikh moped driver, can bend to accommodate particular religious sensibilities.

My point exactly but he couldn't swear to that in court unless he could see her face could he?

Yes, and for those who do it's a political symbol of defiance.
^ I agree.
So do I.
Burkas & full body covering are worn in the desert against sand storms.

I find it insulting to consider a burka clad female more modest than we are.
There's an advert for Western Union, telling how easy it is to remit money to Pakistan and mostly in Islamic script, under the original question.
Would many of the contributers to this thread need such information?
Yes, in my opinion, she should - and good for M'lud for taking that stance too
if this isn't stopped in it's tracks, then you will see that if it's allowed for women to wear a veil in court that others will show the same attitude.
i think the question and indeed the wearing of the burkha, veil deeply divisive, and i do believe this is scoring political points and nothing to do with being so called modest.
