white flower?

I was given a boquet with white flowers the shape of a small rose but stems like a carnation. Long pointed leaves.Any ideas?

No the shape, especially the half opened bud is like a rose, I thought they were roses until I separated them out.
It might be a type of campanula? Try the link here for some pictures. I'm not a gadner but I can picture the flower you describe.

Well it might be Campanula persicifolia, the double white one in your picture (powder puff).


One of the pictures on http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/35/ shows the leaves, and they are the same. Who'd have thought it, campanular ought to be bells not roses!
