Why is this?

She has ALWAYS got to be sitting on my chest , tummy or shoulder or with her head in the curve of my neck!

She follows me everywhere! Toilet, bath, kitchen!

Why is this? I LOVE her but i cant even move for her lol i can forget watching TV because she is always nose to nose with me! Ha! X

It does get irritating occasionally though, especially when you take a step back and your dog frightens you silly because you've trodden on her paw she's that damn close to you!
She's so cute thinks, I love my two westies too, how could you not !

Yeh boo ive done that! Shes a wee minx!!

Im westie-fied to the max! Lol x
well at least she isn't a st bernard tinker
Dead right, lankeela. You have Lancashire heelers. My pup is 11 months and a wolfhound, so he's still like that. Not sure whether that's more or less of a pleasure ! You're lucky if they are less clingy if there's several. But, that said, the Dandie Dinmont terrier here is not at all clingy, but she does nip me the ankle to get attention.

Tinkerbell, enjoy it while you can. She may get less clingy, and if she does, that'll just be a fond memory. If she doesn't (and she will be a little less), well, that shows she loves you.
hi tinks. although this is endearing when the dog is a puppy, its actually not a great idea to continue this behaviour, I know from experience the dog can develop a separation anxiety problem. id start by occasionally closing doors between you and the dog, let her be a little bit independent at times. anne

She has a cage in my room she sleeps in and she goes in there when im out! Shes never alone much which is good- if im at work my dad collects her! Its great!

Ill just lap up the kisses & cuddles shes a great cheeky wee girl!! Anne i do sometimes put her in cage never for being naughty but just to know its a "good place" give her a treat, or in the kitchen for time out for me when i eat or am trying to mop etc xx
Anne, well yes, but that's a different problem. Every pup has to learn that you go out and leave it. Taking this process by gradual stages will adjust the pup. That it's always with you is neither here nor there. They all tend to cling. Letting it do so won't make any difference to learning not to fret when you do leave it. It's difficult for any dog, but they learn.
I echo sentiments of Anneasquith - was about to say the same thing. Mr Harv frets after me when I go out (and he is 9) and it sorta upsets me too. Glad you have somebody to take her when you do go out but there could be a day when she will have to be on her own and it is good advice to separate yourself from her a few times to prepare her. Thank you all- i do sometimes!

Learned from mistakes with first dog! Hes super spoiled & no cage! This wee lady loves her cage xx
Sounds like bonding to me. How does she socialize with other dogs?
They're great when small and learning like that. I can remember watching Max and you could almost see him thinking " Shall I go to mum 'cause she let me sit on her knee or shall I stick with dad 'cause he might take me to the pub" It always make me smile thinking of Trish trying to read or do her knitting with a full grown GSD layed with his head in her lap or the way he'd lay across my feet so I couldn't move without him.
Youre her only companion till you bring in another dog.

Hope youre keeping well x
My Jack Russell is a quarter Westie. He was very clingy for the first few months. Now he is bigger, he likes to sleep in his bed, or stretched out on his back with his legs in the air. He will cuddle up next to me on the chair and in bed as well. When awake he is underfoot much of the time wanting to play ball.
He is almost a year old now and slowly showing signs of independence.
