My 12 year old son has just gone with his dad to A&E suspected meningitis. headache and drowsy since yesterday, elevated (39.9c) temperature despite regular doses of Calpol and paracetamol. Emergency doctor did over the phone diagnostics and told us to take him straight away to urgent care at the local hospital. He has no rash or stiff neck and is not photosensitive, has not been sick but had mild diarrhea -could it (hopefully) be something else?

So please to hear it's not menigitis and that you know what it is and that he is home where he is safe and sound. Nothing worse than worrying about a poorly loved one. (Would put a kiss but that might be going a bit too far x)

Glad it's good news Morrigan. Not very nice for you boy, but I'm sure you're a little less worried now they have ruled out meningitis. Hope he's better soon. X
Only just spotted this thread, I am so pleased your son is home and on the mend, it must have been frightening . x
Glad he's on the mend. Children never stop worrying us whatever age they are. Take care. cupid.x
M...I'm so pleased he is home and safe with you....Lots of us have had a scare just as you did last night... it's so frightening.
Glad that AB helped...sometimes you don't actually want anyone around you but you still want the comfort of sharing and knowing others think of you.
Give him a cuddle for us...and get yourself back together now!
Love Gx.
thank you for passing on the good news. I hope you are all able to have few quiet days now x
Poor Mum. A roller coaster of emotions followed by relief - and then being in charge of the sick bucket.

Glad Master Morrigan is OK though.
I was wearying my favourite saints with intercesionary prayer.....
You must all be exhausted ! Your son must have felt so poorly :(
I'm relieved for you that it's in check now, onwards and upwards now.As you'll know kids are resilient, he'll feel better way before you do !!
Thanks for the update.

Thank you all for your good wishes . he's feeling better, temperature under control with Calopol, but still coming out both ends if you know what I mean lol! I've given sherradk best answer because it made me laugh which I haven't done for the last three days.
