My Virgin says T Mobile
Virgin use T-Mobile's netowrk to carry their calls. T-Mobile and Orange are now brands owned by the same company (Everything Everywhere). So there is a connection. That said your handset should show 'Virgin'. It must be a technical hitch somewhere ! Unless you've roamed onto the Orange network ;-)

much have been a technical error it says virgin now along with my partners which changed to say orange too...weird
Not a technical fault at all.

As mentioned above, T-Mobile and Orange now share each others networks. As long as you have enabled roaming your mobile can switch to whichever of the two networks is available and the selected network will be indicated on screen.
Ah I see. When you roam over to Orange, their network can't be fully inegrated into the T-Mobile one then. Since it insists on telling you the licence holder of the Network is, instead of recognising the name of the company who has bought capacity on the T-Mobile network, and sending that to the mobile instead. It would have been nice, but I guess not a high priority thing to arrange. Coverage is more important.
They haven't bought capacity, it is a case of two distinct brands, T-Mobile and Orange (both being subsidiaries of Everything Everywhere), having free access to each other's distinct networks.
Virgin will defiinitely have bought capacity in some form on T-Mobile's network because Virgin has no licence to have a wireless spectrum of their own.
Apologies: I misinterpreted your post to mean bought capacity on Orange.

:-) I suspected as much. I'm not always as clear as I might be, or so I'm told.
I have also had this with my phone, I used to get bad signal at my house and now it's great. I'm going to do a test and see if when I use my phone in one of the area's of Liverpool where I’m registered with orange whether or not my Virgin account Balance goes down ... Nope, it still goes down as normal. I haven't heard of a merger (which is what it probably is rather than a take over) either, but I have never had signal here and now all of a sudden I do. It's weird, but not unaccepted by me. Obviously, you can always ask Virgin Mobile themselves about it and they could probably give you an answer, but nothing is on their website, or on the net; but I guess you already knew that. Hope this helps.
