How much approximately would I need to save for a 3 night stay in a cottage in somewhere like Wales or Scotland? The cottage would be shared between about 7 to 10 people.

So for cottage rent
Alcohol
Food
Spends (approx £100/£150)
Train costs

I was thinking about £350/400 all in? Does that sound enough?

Forgot to mention, its for around April 2014 time.
How can we guess that? We don't know where you live, how much you eat, how much you drink, and what kind of place you intend staying in.
At least £500 Bobby?

From Manchester to scotland . Time of year is April 2014 like I stated in the first answer. I'm looking for how much I would need to save APPROX, so yes preferably per person.

I suppose I can look for train prices myself. It was more cost of cottage rental and if anyone knows or has info
It is Easter on the weekend starting 18th April so rental prices will be much higher that weekend.

If you go before then you should get a bargain. Here's a selection of Welsh cottages for a 3 night weekend break in April for 8 people

What ever you decide on, double it. You nearly always spend more then you budget for on holiday.
This sleeps 10 in Scotland:

There are lots of different sites for you to check out. The earlier you book your train tickets the cheaper it will be. If some of you drive it may be cheaper to use your own cars or hire 3.
Do you have a location in mind? Pitlochry,Inverness,Edinburgh ?Prices can vary a lot.
If you go to Wales, it won't cost as much in train fares.
