Oh bought watersoftner off eBay, had to go to Croydon to collect it. Set off 11,30 this morning, got there at 4.00 ish. Due to getting lost on m25. Finally got home 8.30 after picking up a takeaway. Worth it though, got it for £10.50 worth nearly £300, so got a bargain.

Croydon?

Yikes!!
Tell me what you mean by "water softner"? I'm intrigued.

£10.50. Was that the water softener or the take away?
Question Author
When you have hard water there are machines that you can put the water supply through. You add salt tablets to it and your water supply is softened, this means you don't get lime scale furring up pipes and appliances.
Question Author
The £10.50 was the price of the water softener!

We had an expensive week, our water softener developed a leak, engineer came out and said unrepairable. The fridge freezer broke down, same thing engineer said no good so had to buy a new one.
Monday we decided to sign up for solar PVC panels. Yesterday we saw sense and cancelled them. At our age we should know better!
Caran, I know. It was supposed to be a joke.
I should have added 'where can you get a take away for £10.50'

Jeza I had a delicious chicken Shish kebab with loads of salad in a pitta for £6.80
Totally baffled by the whole 'water softener' thing. When you said it cost £300, I was intrigued. Is it like a filter, which purifies the water?

Its like a washing machine type thing, my in-laws had one it was brilliant, saves on soap powder, washing up liquid and so on
